November 2019 PIHL Player of the Month

DYLAN BELAK - BALDWIN

Dylan Belak has helped his Baldwin Fighting Highlanders get off to one of its best starts in program history. As a junior forward, Belak has 6 goals and 5 assists in 8 games, placing him second among his teammates in both goals and points. Belak recorded both goals in Baldwin’s 2-1 win over Meadville on November 25th, and his contributions at the defensive end have resulted in Baldwin surrendering 2 goals or less in all but one of its games this season. Belak is also second on the team in power-play goals, but his biggest contribution to special teams has been his discipline – he has zero penalty minutes this season. Behind Belak’s efforts, the Highlanders are 8-0 on the year and rest atop the standings in the tightly-contested Southwest Division of PIHL Class AA.

Belak thrives even more at Baldwin as a student. He has a 3.83 GPA in the classroom, earning him a spot on the high honor roll and an induction into the National Honor Society. He is on the Activities Council at Baldwin High School, engaging in events such as a breakfast for military veterans and the Baldwin homecoming carnival. He is a member of the Spanish Club, which is involved in sponsoring a child in Latin America. Belak is also a member of the da Vincian Society, which is an arts organization that attends opera, symphony, live theatre, and museum exhibitions. Additionally, Belak is a contributor to Baldwin’s student newspaper.
