CENTRAL CATHOLIC JV COACHES

Head Junior Varsity 2 Ice Hockey Coach

The Central Catholic Viking Hockey Club is a head coach for its Junior Varsity 2 Team. This head coach should have some prior coaching experience.

The Head Junior Varsity 2 (JV2) Ice Hockey Coach at Central Catholic High School (CCHS) is responsible for ensuring that the activities and participants of the JV2 Team are properly organized, supervised, and cared for in a way that is appropriately aligned with the Catholic, Lasallian Mission of CCHS. All activities of the CCHS Ice Hockey program have as its end the care and best interests of the student athletes includes the formation of our athletes into men who understand and value teamwork, being part of something bigger than yourself, community, and a belief in taking one’s gifts and talents and using them for the common good. Finally, inclusive of this is a thorough understanding of all PIHL, Diocese of Pittsburgh, and CCHS regulations and guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Works with Varsity and JV1 Head Coaches to deliver consistent program message.
2. Has current knowledge and required certifications for all PA State, PIHL, Diocesan, and CCHS regulations and guidelines, as well as, is in compliance with all required regulations.
3. Works with CCHS Office of Advancement and hockey parent board as pertains to the Booster Club and its resources.
4. Implements and follows all Diocesan and CCHS policies and procedures for athletics.
5. Is willing to learn and have a good understanding of Sports and Spirituality and impart and model that spirituality as it pertains to the Catholic, Lasallian mission of CCHS.
6. Will attend coaching formation programs when offered by CCHS.
7. Be present for the complete duration of practice sessions, team meetings and events, and guarantee the supervision of all participating students.
8. Establish, publish, and enforce fair team rules.
9. Strive to help each participant develop self-discipline and appropriate behavior.
10. Ensure that team members behave in an appropriate, reasonable manner at all events.
11. Be consistent and fair and deal with each member of the team in an unbiased manner.
12. Actively promote within the student body and community an interest in the sport.
13. Lead team members in prayer before the start of every practice and athletic contest.
14. Meet with and communicate team expectations to parents. Respond to their concerns in writing and otherwise in a timely manner.

Assistant Junior Varsity Ice Hockey Coach

The Central Catholic Viking Hockey Club is hiring assistant hockey coaches for both Junior Varsity 1 and Junior Varsity 2 teams. This a great opportunity for an entry level coach to start their coaching career.

The Assistant Junior Varsity Ice Hockey Coach at Central Catholic High School (CCHS) is responsible for working with the Junior Varsity Head Coach to ensure that the activities and participants of the are properly organized, supervised, and cared for in a way that is appropriately aligned with the Catholic, Lasallian Mission of CCHS. All activities of the CCHS Ice Hockey program have as its end the care and best interests of the student athletes includes the formation of our athletes into men who understand and value teamwork, being part of something bigger than yourself, community, and a belief in taking one’s gifts and talents and using them for the common good. Norwin Varsity Head Coach and Middle School Head Coach

NORWIN KNIGHTS HOCKEY CLUB COACHING POSITION

Norwin Knights Hockey Club is now accepting resumes for head and assistant coaching positions for the upcoming Middle School and Varsity 2024-25 season. We are looking for coaches who will help with the success of not solely their team, but of our entire program and our student athletes. The Norwin Hockey Club is a school affiliated club fielding a Developmental Program, Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams, and will be celebrating our 50th anniversary this upcoming season.

Varsity Head Coach:

Primary responsibilities and qualifications of the Varsity Head Coach are performed in conjunction with the NHC Executive Board and are listed below:

*Coordinate all off ice dryland and on ice activities for the Varsity, JV and MS teams

*Develop and implement playing systems to all other NHC teams, and serve as the lead for all other NHC coaches

*Attend all NHC required functions including but not limited to: Required Board Meetings, Fundraisers, and PIHL Coaching Meetings

*USA Hockey Coaching Certifications, Safesport Certifications, Federal Background and State Child Abuse Clearances

Middle School Head Coach:

Primary responsibilities and qualifications of the Middle School Head Coach are performed in conjunction with the NHC Executive Board and are listed below:

*Coordinate all on ice activities for the Middle School team

*Coach and develop our Middle School players and implement the NHC systems set forth by the Varsity Head Coach.

*Attend all NHC required functions including but not limited to: Required Board Meetings, Fundraisers, and PIHL Coaching Meetings

*USA Hockey Coaching Certifications, Safesport Certifications, Federal Background and State Child Abuse Clearances

Norwin is a participating member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL).

Freeport Middle School

Freeport Middle School Hockey is looking for a Head Coach with an experienced ice hockey background.  Qualified candidates will possess good leadership and communication skills to instruct players in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success.  All applicants must have the appropriate background clearances, certifications and other documentation required by USA Hockey.

SHALER AREA ICE HOCKEY MIDDLE SCHOOL HEAD COACHING POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Shaler Area Hockey Club is looking for a Head Middle School Coach with an experienced ice hockey background and possesses good leadership and communication skills to instruct players in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success.

Shaler Area Ice Hockey participates in the ALPHA league.  All applicants must have the appropriate background clearances, certifications and other documentation required by USA Hockey and the Shaler Area Athletic Department.
