Freeport Middle School Hockey is looking for a Head Coach with an experienced ice hockey background.  Qualified candidates will possess good leadership and communication skills to instruct players in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success.  All applicants must have the appropriate background clearances, certifications and other documentation required by USA Hockey.

Central Catholic HS Head Coach Opening

The Head Ice Hockey Coach at Central Catholic High School (CCHS) is responsible for ensuring that the activities and participants of the Ice Hockey program are properly organized, supervised, and cared for in a way that is appropriately aligned with the Catholic, Lasallian Mission of CCHS. All activities of the CCHS Ice Hockey program have as its end the care and best interests of the student athletes includes the formation of our athletes into men who understand and value teamwork, being part of something bigger than yourself, community, and a belief in taking one’s gifts and talents and using them for the common good. Finally, inclusive of this is a thorough understanding of all PIHL, Diocese of Pittsburgh, and CCHS regulations and guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Ordinarily reports directly to the Director of Athletics.
  2. Has current knowledge and required certifications for all PA State, PIHL, Diocesan, and CCHS regulations and guidelines, as well as, is in compliance with all required regulations.
  3. Ensures that all assistant coaching staff is in compliance with Diocesan, CCHS, and PIHL, regulations and submits all required documentation to the Director of Athletics.
  4. Responds to PA Child Care Clearances as directed by Principal’s assistant to ensure the clearance of all coaching staff.
  5. Works with CCHS Office of Advancement and hockey parent board as pertains to the Booster Club and its resources.
  6. Will work through the Athletic Department and with the Lasallian Ministry office to coordinate team service activities.
  7. Implements and follows all Diocesan and CCHS policies and procedures for athletics.
  8. Is willing to learn and have a good understanding of Sports and Spirituality and impart and model that spirituality as it pertains to the Catholic, Lasallian mission of CCHS.
  9. Will be required to attend the mandatory winter coaches meeting on campus.
  10. Will attend coaching formation programs when offered by CCHS.
  11. Be present for the complete duration of practice sessions, team meetings and events, and guarantee the supervision of all participating students.
  12. Establish, publish, and enforce fair team rules.
  13. Strive to help each participant develop self-discipline and appropriate behavior.
  14. Ensure that team members behave in an appropriate, reasonable manner at all events.
  15. Be consistent and fair and deal with each member of the team in an unbiased manner.
  16. Actively promote within the student body and community an interest in the sport.
  17. Lead team members in prayer before the start of every practice and athletic contest.
  18. Meet with and communicate team expectations to parents. Respond to their concerns in writing and otherwise in a timely manner.
  19. In conjunction with the Director of Athletics, do a written professional evaluation of all assistant coaches at least once a year.
  20. Be evaluated by the Director of Athletics once a year.
  21. Attend required PIHL, Diocesan and CCHS professional meetings.
  22. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, the Principal, and/or President of Central Catholic High School.

VARSITY HEAD COACH GREENSBURG SALEM

The Greensburg Salem Hockey Club has an immediate opening for a Varsity Head Coach!

Job Description- The Varsity Head Coach is the head of coaching for the entire organization.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the official spokesperson on behalf of the team and entire coaching staff
  • Plan on and off ice activities with coordination of the Executive Board and Assistant Coaching Staff
  • Plan, implement, and control practice plans, pre-game preparation, and all communication with the team
  • Coaching the team in all PIHL games
  • Attendance at monthly board meetings to ensure open communication throughout the organization
  • Assess candidates for middle school and developmental coaching positions

Qualifications-

  • USA Hockey Coaching Certification and applicable modules
  • Safe Sport Certification
  • Federal Background and Child Abuse clearances
  • All other documentation required by Greensburg Salem School District
  • Preferred prior coaching experience at the 18U/High School Level and a strong hockey background in playing, coaching, and evaluating
  • Strong interest and commitment to athlete development

HEAD COACH FRANKLIN REGIONAL

The Franklin Regional Hockey Club has immediate openings for a Varsity Head Coach. The responsibilities will be to organize, direct and evaluate all phases of a competitive AA PIHL hockey program. Primary duties include coaching, games and practice planning, scheduling, supervision of assistant coaches, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes for the hockey program within full compliance with PIHL rules and regulations.  

Preferred Qualifications:  Preferred qualifications include but are not limited to: Prior coaching experience at a high level (midget/high school); current USA Hockey Coaching Certification, current Safe Sport Certification; ability to pass all required background checks; and excellent leadership, people, and communication skills.

Shaler JV Assistant Coaching Position

Shaler Area Hockey Club is looking for an Assistant JV coach with an experienced ice hockey background and possesses good leadership and communication skills to instruct players in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success. . 

Shaler Area Ice Hockey participates in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL). All applicants must have the appropriate background clearances, certifications and other documentation required by USA Hockey, PIHL and the Shaler Area Athletic Department
