There are three scholarship opportunities annually available to graduating seniors who play hockey in the PIHL:
2022 BOB JOHNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Bob Johnson Memorial Scholarship, valued at $5,000, is co-sponsored by the Pittsburgh Penguins Booster Club.
The Johnson scholarship was created in 1992 and is presented annually to a western Pennsylvania high school senior for academic excellence, community service and for providing leadership, sportsmanship and a positive attitude as a member of their school’s hockey program. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2 to qualify for this scholarship.
Student-athletes can access the application at https://www.pittsburghpenguinsfoundation.org/program/scholarships/. All completed scholarship applications must be completed no later than April 29, 2022.

2022 PITTSBURGH PENGUINS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni Association will award its 16th annual scholarship this year, valued at $2,000. This award is co-sponsored by the NHL Alumni Association.
The Alumni scholarship program was created in 2005 and is also presented annually to a western Pennsylvania high school senior for academic excellence and for providing leadership, sportsmanship and a positive attitude as a member of their school’s hockey program. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2 to qualify.
Please submit your completed application no later than April 29, 2022.
2022-2023 PENNSYLVANIA INTERSCHOLASTIC HOCKEY LEAGUE SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League offers five, $500 scholarships from the PIHL. These scholarships are awarded to senior hockey players currently participating in the PIHL. While the greatest emphasis is on academic performance, other facets of the student-athlete are also a part in the selection process.

The complete application and corresponding paperwork must be received (postmarked or in hand) no later than March 8,2023.
