The hot start Fox Chapel has been off to is due in larger part to the play of goaltender Nash Wedner.  His play in net has allowed our team to play freer offensively, knowing Nash is there to be bail them out.  Nash has had to step up big for us on multiples occasions including a 23 save shutout in a 1-0 victory over Freeport.  Nash is currently top of the league in wins (6), shutouts (2) and GAA (1.33).  His .942 save percentage is also good enough for second among Class A goaltenders.  More important than his stats, Nash is also a key leader of our team.  He’s always calm and steady in the net and he has become one of the vocal leaders in the dressing room.  He brings energy into the room and understands the culture and what the coaching staff is trying to build for both the short term and long term.  As a coaching staff we always say that the team truly runs through Nash and he has stepped up the plate and held his end of the bargain so far and he is always hungry to get better each and every time he is on the ice.
