Eddie Pazo is surrounded by high-scoring teammates at Thomas Jefferson, so he was not necessarily the player looked upon to produce when the team needed a big goal.  But when North Hills had the Jaguars locked in a tight game on November 7th, Pazo produced what proved to be the game-winning goal to preserve his team’s unblemished record.  And since then, the junior forward has earned his spot as more than just a high-scoring teammate – he has been one of the top scorers in PIHL Class A.  The goal against North Hills was Pazo’s 3rd goal and 5th point through 5 games.  Since then, he has 15 goals and 4 assists in 4 games.  His hat trick against Bishop McCort on December 9th helped TJ turn aside one of the other top contenders in Class A by a 7-0 score.  And Pazo had a pair of 5-goal games against Greensburg Salem and Fox Chapel, both strong playoff contenders in the classification.  The addition of Pazo to the scoring mix makes Thomas Jefferson the clear favorite to win the Penguins Cup in Class A.

Off the ice, Pazo has always been a performer.  In the literal sense, he is a member of Croatian Culture, a folklore music group.  He also plays golf on the Varsity team at Thomas Jefferson, and he volunteers with youth hockey players to teach skating techniques to the next generation of players.  But the classroom might be where Pazo puts on his best performances.  As a junior, he is in the National Honor Society and has earned High Honors with Distinction at Thomas Jefferson High School.  The numbers behind that also show that he is among the best: Pazo has a 4.2 GPA and scored 1320 on his SATs.
